Balaji is the VMware Founders Professor of Computer Science and Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. His research interests are in computer networks, notably in data center networks and cloud computing platforms. Previously, Balaji was a co-founder and Chief Scientist of Urban Engines, which developed a new type of database to map objects in motion. The company was acquired by Google in 2016.
Mendel is the Cheriton Family Professor of Computer Science and a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. He has published research in the areas of disk storage management, computer simulation techniques, scalable operating system structure, virtualization computer security, and mobility. He was also a co-founder of VMware Inc. where he served as the Chief Scientist for the company’s first 10 years.
Deepak was previously a co-founder of Urban Engines which was acquired by Google. He received his PhD and MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and his Bachelor of Technology, Electrical Engineering from IIT, Mumbai.
Yilong received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University where his research led to the Huygens clock synchronization system that serves as the foundation for Clockwork's technology. He received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University.
Dan was the General Manager, Product and Partnerships, for Urban Engines which was acquired by Google in 2016. He has also held roles at Stanford University and Google. Dan has a BSE in CS from Princeton University.
